Progress being made on Allerton master plan

When Allerton Park compiled its master plan a few years ago, the crown jewel was thought to be Phase III’s addition of conference space and accommodations to the retreat center – the expansive Georgian mansion originally built in 1900 by Robert Allerton.

When supporters of Allerton Park & Retreat Center donate to an upcoming project, they will have a chance to double their gift through a generous matching gift opportunity. David and Debra Rathje have donated $156,000 to help fund a semi-permanent tent structure, and they have pledged to match up to $150,000 of additional contributions made to the project until June 2017.

Kirk Branch, a lifelong resident of the White Heath and Monticello area, will have his art featured in the Illini Union Art Gallery Sept. 1-30. The exhibit is called “Kirk Branch: Coming Home.”
