Bootcamp winner announced

The City of Monticello has announced Katie Keman as the winner of the 2018 Fall Monticello Bootcamp grant.

Keman presented her business plan for the KDK Designs, a new startup with a kitchen and cabinetry design service and showroom she will be opening in downtown Monticello at 215 W. Washington. Based upon her presentation of her business plan, the judges of the Bootcamp program have recommended awarding a grant for $5,000 that is reimbursable once she opens, for rent and utility expenses.

The Monticello Bootcamp program is a 5-week business plan development program which fosters and strengthens the business knowledge of past, present and future entrepreneurs from all walks of life. Eligible participants have the option of presenting their business to a panel of judges, who may recommend the applicant for a grant based upon the thoroughness and viability of their business plan. The Monticello Bootcamp Grant is primarily funded through the donations of individuals, organizations and businesses.
