Monticello Police Report - November activity


The Monticello Police Department reported the following activity in November.

Patrol shifts – 99, dispatched calls – 119, criminal offenses – 19, follow-up investigations – 16, 911 calls – 11, criminal arrests – 1, traffic tickets – 31, written warnings – 10, verbal warnings – 18, reported ordinance violation reports – 1, calls for service no report required – 98, incident reports – 23, downtown foot patrols – 94, vacation checks – 288, escorts – 7, public service details – 30, assisted Piatt County Sheriff’s Department – 13, assist Illinois State Police – 1, ambulance assist – 15, fire department assist – 13, business checks – 5,145.

Chief of Police Michael Galloway held several personnel meetings in November with officers. This was part of continued evaluation and assessment through management study questions and feedback from the employees on a number of topics. Results will be tabulated for a department meeting.

A new phone system was installed within the police department, adding important technology capabilities.

New police officer Carolynn Wallenberg graduated from the Police Training Institute on Nov. 29 and is now involved in the department field training program. Officer Wallenberg earned the top scholastic grade-point average in her PTI class of 40 other officers and received the training academy Warren Award to recognize her accomplishments.
