Monticello Police Report – December 2012

The Monticello Police Department reported the following activity in December of 2012:

Patrol shifts – 105; dispatched calls – 124; criminal offenses – 20; follow-up investigations – 17; 911 calls – 19; criminal arrests – 5; traffic tickets – 44; written warnings – 18; verbal warnings – 14; reported ordinance violations – 3;

Calls for service/no report required – 107; incident reports – 25; downtown foot patrols – 95; vacation checks – 409; escorts – 5; public service details – 20; assisted Piatt County Sheriff’s Department – 9; assisted Illinois State Police – 7; ambulance assist – 18; fire department assist – 12; business building c checks – 5,207.

The Monticello Police Department assisted with the Christmas Parade and enjoyed being part of such a nice community event.

Officer Carolynn Wallenberg received her official oath of office in front of the Monticello City Council at their Dec. 10 meeting.

An assessment on training needs for the department has been completed by the Chief of Police and future training has already been scheduled for January and February for some of the force’s officers.
