Police announce six drug arrests

Five Piatt County residents and a sixth from Urbana were arrested on drug charges recently by Task Force 6, in conjunction with the Piatt County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspects – wanted in connection with the investigation of illegal drug sales in the Piatt County area – were taken into custody on Nov. 20-21.

“The arrests were the result of lengthy, separate investigations, involving the sales of various illegal controlled substances in the Piatt County area,” according to a statement released by the investigating agencies.

Those arrested included:

–Stephanie Cafin, 35 years old, of Urbana; arrested on two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class 1felony. She posted bond and was released.

–Ryan Walters, 22, Monticello; arrested on two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. He posted bond and was released.

–Ronald McDade, 29, Monticello; arrested on two counts of unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, Class X/ Class 1 felonies. As of press time he remained in custody.

–Brandon Sellers, 22, Monticello; arrested on one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class 1 felony. He remains in custody.

–Douglas Critchfield, 29, Bement; arrested on three counts unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a Class 1 felony/ He posted pond and was released.

–Andrew Plummer, 31, Bement, arrested on one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class a felony. He remains in custody.

Task Force 6 is a multi-agency enforcement unit specializing in narcotics enforcement. Task Force 6 is composed of officers from Clinton Police Department, DeWitt County Sheriff’s Department, McLean County Sheriff’s Department, Piatt County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State University Police Department, and the Illinois State Police.
