Paint Piatt Pink fundraisers underway

The different departments at Kirby Medical Center are holding a light-hearted competition to help raise money for the annual Paint Piatt Pink breast cancer awareness effort. The public can vote for their favorite window decoration by dropping change into the department’s bucket. The winner will receive a goody basket from the Paint Piatt Pink committee.

The proceeds will go to help provide support for breast cancer patients in Piatt county in the form of a Hope Tote. In the past 12 months the hospital has given 10 Hope Totes to patients. Each tote is valued at $150 and has gift cards and soothing items to help with treatment and provide encouragement as well.

PPP is also hosting a Row-A-Thon Oct. 21 at CrossFit KMC on the hospital campus. This will raise awareness and support the Hope Tote fund. Also planned is a sack lunch fundraiser in the hospital Apple a Day café, this month.

Other fundraising efforts will include a Pink Out night at this Friday’s Monticello football game.
