Richardson named to Arts Council

On the evening of Oct. 18, members and patrons of the Monticello Area Arts Council gathered at the Livingston Center for their Annual Fall Meeting. Amid beautiful fall decorations of pumpkins, mums, leaves, and candles, the group enjoyed a delicious meal of pork roll, creamy mashed potatoes, homemade applesauce, green beans with bacon, and pumpkin cake. Mountain dulcimer musician Margaret O’Brien, a jewel within our community, played and sang throughout the evening.

At a short business meeting, Board members were installed for the coming year: Michele Hillard, Amanda Gleason, Kirk Branch, Jan E. Gantz, Belinda Beccue, Chris Corrie, and our newest Board member, Lynn Richardson.

You’ve seen Lynn’s friendly smile when checking out reading material at Allerton Library, where she worked as a librarian for 20 years. Lynn says she has dabbled in painting and drawing, but has spent more time in the music arena, singing in groups in school and in church choir, and giving piano lessons. Lynn wants to help people find more inspiration in their own lives through the same avenues that have inspired her. She says, “My life requires music, beauty, arts, travel, and reading. These things inspire me and broaden my outlook on the world.”
