Bootcamp grant winner announced

The City of Monticello and Monticello Main Street are pleased to announce the winner of the 2016 Spring Bootcamp Program, Monarch Brewing Company, LLC.

Matt Miller, who attending the program on behalf of his startup business, the Monarch Brewing Company, LLC, had to meet the program requirements in order to be eligible for the grant, including presenting a thorough business plan to a panel of judges for evaluation and feedback. Mr. Miller was awarded a $5,000 grant to be used toward rent/mortgage and utility costs. He has plans to open the Monarch Brewing Company, LLC in downtown Monticello later this year.

The Monticello Bootcamp program is a 5-week intense business training program intended to provide a snapshot of subject areas in which an existing or potential business owner should be considering when owning a business. The grant is funded entirely by private businesses and individuals throughout Central Illinois. This spring session is the second round of the program that has completed, with the first grant awarded to Samantha Koon.

Registration for the fall, 2016 program will open Aug. 1.
