“TV Holiday Classics on Parade” is the theme of this year’s Farmer City Christmas Parade, which will step off at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24 from the Farmer City Fairgrounds. It will then proceed south on Main Street through the business district.
This year’s grand marshal is Sandy Shaw, a life-long resident and former city clerk. She has also volunteered for many community organizations, including the Farmer City Raceway, Haunted Forest, Farmer City Little League and the Farmer City Christmas Parade. She has three sons and six grandchildren.
The parade will also include area high school bands from Blue Ridge, Bement, Heyworth and Lexington, an appearance by former WCIA chief weather forecaster Judy Fraser, Shriner entries, holiday floats, antique cars and more.
Still time to enter
Those wishing to enter the parade can call Parade Chairman Chad Wills at 309-386-2791 or by visiting the parade Facebook site.
