A benefit golf event, “Links and Love for Liam,” is scheduled for Saturday, July 27 at the Monticello Golf Club.
The scramble-style outing will benefit Liam Walden’s battle with Batten Disease. Registration is available at http://tiny.cc/linksforliam.
A morning flight will begin at 7:30 a.m., a silent auction at 10 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., an afternoon flight at 12:30 p.m., wine and wedges from 4 to 6:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m., and the silent auction ends at 7:30 p.m.
The Wine and Wedges is new this year, and will feature wine, a women’s only putting contest, and 10 shots at the floating green.
The tournament is for four-person teams and will be a best ball event.
All golfers receive lunch and three drink tickets, dinner optional. The public can join us for the dinner event if they are not a golfer.

In late 2017, after months of unexplained seizures, Liam received a heartbreaking diagnosis of CLN2 (late-infantile Battens Disease). The Walden Family continues to make bi-monthly trips to Chicago so that Liam may receive new treatment to slow the progression of this devastating disease.
The Waldens have received an outpouring of support from both within and outside their community. Liam’s Dad, Billy, is a golfer and many of his friends and fellow Monticello Golf Club members are excited to plan a day to provide the family with an outpouring of love and support on the golf course.
