Farmer City police officer Mack King was introduced as the new school resource officer for Blue Ridge schools at its Sept. 18 board meeting.
“Officer Mack King I think is going to be a fantastic addition and liaison between the Farmer City Police Department, the community and the school district,” police chief Glenn Neal told the board. “He’s got a great history and qualifications, and he’s got the right personality and attitude for the job. We’re thrilled to have him come aboard.”
Mack attended a two-day resource officer certification program Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 before officially beginning as the district SRO on Oct. 2.
“We’re glad that you came to meet us,” Blue Ridge superintendent Susan Wilson said. “We’re looking forward to really organizing things (with you).”
“Thanks everyone so much for having me, I appreciate it,” King said. “I look forward to working with you all.”
