Join University of Illinois Extension this June to dress up your garden with a DIY scarecrow.

The whole family is invited to visit the Monticello Area Community Garden from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 8 for a scarecrow building workshop where supplies will be provided to create a unique scarecrow to take home.A small program fee will be charged to cover costs.

Please sign up by June 3 at go.illinois.edu/dmp or call 217-762-2191. Participants are welcome to bring personal decorations such as clothing, flowers, buttons and other items. The community garden is located on the grounds of Kirby Medical Center, 1000 Medical Dr., Monticello. Community garden plots are also still available for the 2019 growing season.
