Holly’s Country Canning is moving from a home-based business to a retail location at 1204 Bear Lane in Monticello. Owner Holly Miller was prompted to make the move due to the sales she has been seeing of her homemade jams, jellies, salsas and other tasty treats. The White Heath resident hopes to bring a “Cracker Barrel” style atmosphere with other vendors also selling in the new space. All of the kitchen equipment for Holly’s has been purchased, but a Kickstarter campaign is winding down for the $18,000 needed for installation. She hopes to open later this year, saying it will also be the location for cooking classes and other activities in the 3,000-square-foot space. The site is already the home of the Second Sunday Market, and Miller said she will also continue her presence at the weekly Monticello Farmers Market.
