Judith "Judy" Cox, 75 of Westville, formerly of DeLand passed away 10:28 a.m. Feb. 13, 2019 at her home.
A Celebration Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at Calvert Funeral Home, DeLand with Lana Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at DeLand Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the Judy Cox Memorial Fund or the DeLand American Legion Post #102.
Judy was born Oct. 27, 1943, in Urbana, the daughter of Frank and Ruth (Eakin) Arbuckle. She married Harley "Pete" Cox, Sr. Aug. 12, 1977. He passed away Feb. 10, 1995.
Survivors include her mother, Ruth Sims, Tuscola; children, Earl L. (Jennifer) Burton, Jr., Lithia, Florida; Michael (Liz) Burton, Hubert, North Carolina; and Tonya Roy, Bloomington; five grandsons; and a brother, Russell (Colleen) Arbuckle, Sonoita, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her father and three stillborn children.
Judy was a C.N.A. in the Alzheimer’s Wing at the Piatt County Nursing Home and later became a truck driver for Transport America, where she received the One Million Mile Safe Driving Award in 2006. She helped establish the E.S.D.A. and Tornado Siren at DeLand and was a life member of the DeLand Legion Auxiliary Unit #102.
