Wilma Elaine Krall Bowman died peacefully Monday, November 11, at Decatur Memorial Hospital following surgery for heart complications.   

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Saturday, November 16, at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello.  A private funeral service for family and invited friends will be held at a later time.  Burial will be at the Cerro Gordo Cemetery.  Memorial gifts may be made to the Elaina and Carson Montague Education Fund (Cerro Gordo State Bank, PO Box 440, IL, 61818) established by Mrs. Bowman for her grandchildren.  Her grandchildren and their success were everything to her. 

Mrs. Bowman was born May 20, 1951, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Wayne E. and Constance Peabody Krall.  She graduated from Barnes Hospital School of Nursing in 1972.  She retired after over 20 years of working as a Registered Nurse for Decatur Memorial Home Health Care serving patients throughout the Decatur and Cerro Gordo areas.  She was supportive of many community activities around Cerro Gordo and served for many years on the Board of Directors for the Church of the Brethren Camp Emmanuel near Astoria, Illinois. She most recently helped organize the 50th anniversary program for the Cerro Gordo High School Class of 1969. 

She married Randy Bowman on December 3, 1977.  He preceded her in death on September 10, 1999. 

Surviving are her daughter, Katherine “Katie”, son-in-law, Richard Montague, and their children Elaina and Carson of Mackinaw, Illinois.  Other survivors are sisters Shirley (Oren) Wright of rural Oakley; Michelle (Robin) Shively also of rural Oakley; Sue Ellen (Terry) Grabb of Washington, Illinois, and brother Daniel Krall and partner Howard Spurling of Ithaca, New York.   

Wilma was the life of every party with her infectious laugh and bright smile.  She enjoyed helping others, working outside, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  Wilma will be dearly missed by her family, friends, neighbors, patients, and everyone who knew or met her.
