The Monticello softball team scored six runs in three of the four innings they batted, swatting aside the visiting Decatur MacArthur Generals with ease 24-8 on Friday.

The Monticello softball team suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday, April 7 to St. Joseph-Ogden.The Sages responded to that defeat with a win three days later.

The Blue Ridge softball team didn’t let a rough Friday effect its play Saturday as the Knights swept a double-header with Argenta-Oreana 5-0 and 4-3 the day after a 10-0 loss to Tuscola.On Saturday, Megan Tsevelekos had two hits and one RBI for Blue Ridge in the first game victory.

The Monticello softball team had been winning by large margins over its opponents early in the season. The Sages showed that once the competition cranks up, they can win the tight ball games as well.

All season long, this Monticello softball team didn't shy away from big moments.And why would it? With five seniors and a lineup chalk full of experience, the Sages had already experienced anything that could be thrown at them.Except a trip to the state tournament.
