OLNEY — Monticello High School has advanced three wrestlers to sectional action this weekend. Jaxon Trent advanced out of the Olney Regional after winning the title at 138 lbs., while teammates Cal Spence (152) and Kaleb Reid (160) are moving on thanks to third-place finishes at Olney.

BEARDSTOWN — The Monticello High School wrestling squad warmed up for the postseason with three wins in five matches last week, including a split of four matches at a highly-competitive meet at Beardstown on Saturday.

MONTICELLO — Large-meet mat work returned to Monticello over the weekend when Monticello hosted the nine-team Illinois Prairie Conference wrestling tournament, held on four mats set up in the Sievers Center.

SPRINGFIELD — The Monticello High School wrestling squad advanced to the top 32 round of Abe’s Rumble last week, a two-day tournament in Springfield.

MONTICELLO — Monticello High School’s wrestling team finished out its regular season with four match wins last week, defeating Olympia and Rantoul on Senior Night Tuesday (June 8) and Argenta-Oreana and Clinton two days later.
